Hey TeamKG!
It's been a few years since we rallied the troops for the 2023 Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation Race for Research when Kyle was 1 week post-op from his second craniotomy and Grade 4 brain tumor diagnosis.
Today, we are rejoicing that he continues to have stable scans with no new tumor growth and defy the odds of this terrible disease. Also since then, Caroline has joined the board of the SBTF and we'd love to support them both by giving back to the SBTF to get closer to finding a cure.
This year the race is on Saturday, September 19th at Atlantic Station and we'd like to gather as many people as possible to participate -- whether it's virtually, or in the 5K, 1K or Tot Trot!
Also, we've freshened up a new Believe t-shirt design -- again inspired by Kyle's love for Ted Lasso and the Braves. If you'd like, you can order, pay and ship your shirts individually via the following link. The t-shirt order form closes on August 16th. (Note that these are separate from the SBTF Race T-shirt you will receive.)
Adult Short Sleeve or Long Sleeve, Kids Short Sleeve
Or just show up with your 2023 Believe shirt!
It'll be a fun morning and is a very kid-friendly event -- so come out with your whole crew! Can we win the award again for most teammates and money raised?!
We'll share more details closer to the event, but you can read below for race-specific details and about the SBTF!
_____
We are participating in the Race For Research at Atlantic Station near downtown Atlanta. GA. It's a 5K run, 1K fun-run/walk and a fundraising event that raises money to support brain tumor research.
You can participate by running (or walking) the course route along with us, by helping us spread the word about this fundraising event, or by making a donation toward our fundraising effort. If you're not a runner, don't worry, many of the registrants are not runners. Instead many of the registrants are brain tumor patients who are just happy to be able to participate in this event.
Your participation and donations enable support, hope and courage for members of the brain tumor community. The Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation provides hope in many ways:
- providing acts of kindness to current patients undergoing treatment
- funding critical brain tumor research
- offering scholarships to those impacted by a brain tumor diagnosis
- hosting support groups for patients and caregivers
PLEASE KNOW that your participation and/or donation will have a positive impact on the life of a brain tumor patient.
The Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation is recognized as as a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization and as a public charity. Donations to the SBTF are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
