Hi Supporters and Friends!
It's that time of year again to "Race for Research" and raise money in memory of Anna! Any way you can offer support is appreciated as every dollar towards research gets us closer to better treatments and hopefully, one day, a cure!
For those that don't know why this cause is so close to my heart, Anna was my younger sister (even after almost nine years, it's still so tough to type "was" and not "is"). She was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) in January of 2015. (If you aren't familiar with GBM, google it and you will see how horrendous of a monster it is.) She was a fighter and endured numerous brain surgeries, radiation treatments, and chemo, but unfortunately, she couldn't win this battle, and we lost her on October 2, 2016. The loss of Anna left a hole in the heart of everyone that knew her. Siblings are, as my mom would say, your longest relationships in life. To lose Anna at the age of 36 was devastating to our whole family, and if we can fund research to prevent other families from going through that loss, I can't think of a better way to honor Anna's memory.
Your participation and support will have a positive impact on the life of a brain tumor patient because it will help to fund much needed brain tumor research. Thanks so much for taking the time to read my request for support and helping me keep Anna's memory alive.
The race will be held at Atlantic Station - near downtown Atlanta. GA. It's a 5K run/walk, 1K fun-run/walk and a fundraising event that raises money to support brain tumor research. Your participation and donations enable support, hope and courage for members of the brain tumor community.
The Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation provides hope in many ways:
providing acts of kindness to current patients undergoing treatment assistance with transportation to critical medical appointments funding critical brain tumor research offering scholarships to those impacted by a brain tumor diagnosis hosting support groups for patients and caregivers
PLEASE KNOW that your participation and/or donation will have a positive impact on the life of a brain tumor patient.
The Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation is recognized as as a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization and as a public charity. Donations to the SBTF are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. Donations by check may be sent by mail along with the offline donation form to the SBTF.
