Activities at the Race
There are many activities to enjoy before and after the 1k/5k while at the Race for Research!
OPENING CEREMONY
The Race For Research will recognize a host of achievements & accomplishments. Our Opening Ceremony will include, among other things, recognition of the following:
- Team Spirit Recognition
- 1st year, 5th year & 10 Year Team Participation
- Research Grant Recipient Award Ceremony
- $100,000 Fundraising Achievement
- Top 5 Team Fundraisers
- Top 5 Individual Fundraisers

Our Opening Ceremony will begin just before the start of the 5K/1K race. We encourage your participation in this very important ceremony, as it provides a wonderful opportunity for you to connect with others impacted by a brain tumor diagnosis, hear from teams and individuals who have reached milestones and continue to carry on our mission, as well as hear from research grant recipients whose projects were funded by your fundraising dollars. You're sure to walk away with new insights about our Foundation’s mission after hearing from our awardees!

Masters Male & Masters Female - 5K
Top 3 place finishers in all age divisions - 5K

This ceremony should begin at approximately 9:30 am

HOSPITAL ART PROJECT
- Take part in creating a work of art for a local treatment center to display
- Paint provided, just bring your creative spirit!
SILENT AUCTION
- Many collectibles to view
- Set your bid and check back to see if you are winning
- Sports, music, college, pro atheletes, politics
WALL OF HONOR
- Bring your own photo or poster to honor your brain tumor patient
- Create a tribute on site
SURVIVOR TREE
- Add your brain tumor patient's name to a butterfly
- Fill the tree with hope
KIDS ACTIVITIES
The Tot Trot registration fee provides your child with a race day swag and a race bib. The start time is scheduled for approximately 9:00am. Signage will be present and announcements will be made to ensure your registered child will not miss the kick-off of the Tot Trot. There will be a DJ led warm-up and special guest arriving just prior to the start of the Trot.
In past years, the activities on the Green for kids have included a balloon artist, face painting, crafts, coloring, temporary tattoos, character photos, and much more.
